Re: Marriage Rally Statement

Ladies and gentlemen,

Please forgive me for not being able to join you all today.

In fact, I'm just back yesterday from a week long visit to Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.  Those of us in a delegation from the Christian Embassy of Canada were attempting in part to build interfaith bridges in each of the three capitals we visited.

Having sent out hundreds of letters and emails indicating the position of most residents of Mill Woods and Beaumont on Bill C-38, I hope that most of you know that I'll vote against the bill if and when the Martin government brings it back to the House.  My own policy concerns about the issue are available on my MP website.

Congratulations to all of you on taking the time and trouble to indicate your position on a very important national issue.
