Tainted palm oil blocked by cautious buyers
A number of palm oil buyers are moving to cut two of the world's largest palm oil producers, FGV Holdings and Sime Darby Plantations, out of their supply chains due to concerns over forced labor allegations. The case of a 12-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan who was forced to marry a 29-year-old man after he reportedly kidnapped, raped and forcibly converted the girl to Islam has sparked anger at the authorities' failure to act.
