Shanghai police summoned former human rights lawyer Zheng Enchong on June 18 for the 62nd time. Zheng was subjected to a violent body search and was forced to undress.
Zheng had accused the Chinese Communist Regime’s (CCP’s) 610 Office of executing all forms of brutality against Falun Gong practitioners and the general public.
Shanghai police summoned Zheng Enchong for a so-called financial investigation. Zheng was detained for nine hours. He contacted The Epoch Times on the night he was released.
He indicated that at 9:30 a.m. on June 18, State Security officer Shi Jinrong took him to the special interrogation room at Zhabei District Police Station. Two policemen, Yao Encai and Dan Jianguo, immediately conducted a violent body search for 20 minutes.
”They tried to threaten me,” Zheng recalled.
He recounted that they first slapped his face five times, hit the back of his head three times with fists, and then tried to burn his lips and eyelids with cigarettes. After they forcibly took off his shirt and pants, they forced him to stand for 15 minutes wearing underwear only.
Officer Zhang Qin also wrote an interrogation record for Zheng to sign. He was met with Zheng’s solemn refusal.
Tenth anniversary of the establishment of the 610 Office
Zheng Enchong pointed out that the main perpetrator of such harassment is the 610 Office—originally organized for the purpose of suppressing Falun Gong. He revealed that the day Zheng was summoned was the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the 610 Office. On that day, many other petitioners were also arrested, and the CCP was on guard.
Zheng became the number one target of the Shanghai 610 Office. The Deputy Secretary of Zhabei District’s CCP Politico-Legal Committee, Zhang Jianguo, “personally operated the elevator and sent me to the special interrogation room on the second floor,” Zheng said.
“The CCP suppresses the Shanghai supporters of and participants in the June 4th Movement with the same tactics they have been using to suppress Falun Gong. This approach is occurring more and more frequently.”
Zheng’s wife, Jiang Meili, appealed to the public regarding Zheng Enchong’s security and personal freedom.
Exposing crimes and corruption despite house arrest
Zheng Enchong, a former Shanghai human rights lawyer, was wrongfully imprisoned for three years after he exposed the collusion between Zhou Zhengyi and the Shanghai faction of the CCP lead by former regime leader Jiang Zemin in 2003.
Following his release on June 5, 2006, the CCP posted dozens of plain-clothes police surrounding his residence. He has been restricted from going out, searching for jobs, or taking part in any other activities to secure financial resources. This was the 62nd time he had been summoned by the police since his release from prison.
Zheng Enchong continues to expose the crimes and corruption of the Shanghai faction of the CCP. He publicly denounced the organizations of the CCP in which he was once a member. He also calls on the Chinese people to resign from the Communist Party of China and its associated organizations.
