1. Statements by the Darfur Association of Canada and others on the
pending arrest warrant for Sudanese President Al Bashir
Dafur Cannot Be Denied
"The ICC decision to indict Al Bashir, Sudan's President, is long
overdue. It is not a time to celebrate or mourn the lives of those
lost, but rather to inject hope into the lives of those who survived
and have lost hope for a possible solution to their tragedy. It is
high time for the world to take advantage of the momentum been created
by this indictment to mount even more pressure on the Sudanese
Government, and to seriously and genuinely reach out to all sides for
possible solutions..." Read more.

2. STAND Canada is seeking groups and organizations to collaborate
during the upcoming election
The overall objective of STAND's election strategy is to make Darfur
an election issue and, as a result, secure promises for action from
our elected officials. STAND also aims to continue raising awareness
amongst decision-makers and the Canadian public.
STAND Canada's election strategy is divided into four main
initiatives. Keeping in line with the organization's vision of making
it easy for Canadians to act against genocide, each of the initiatives
will inform voters about a party or candidate's position on Darfur so
that they can easily make an informed decision when voting. The four
initiatives are described here.
For information about how your organization or group can collaborate
with STAND on elections issues, or for any other questions, please
contact Brianna Ames at bames@standcanada.org
3. Video exposes abuse of children by Sudanese Security Forces:
Message from the Sudanese Canadian Human Rights Organization
I am sharing this information with you about a You Tube video that
exposes torture of the children detained by the Security forces in
Sudan. Some of them allegedly belong to the Justice & Equality
Movement that invaded the Sudanese capital city on May 10, 2008. Some
people argue that some of them are street kids rounded from the
streets of Khartoum. Either way, there are apparent human rights
abuses. As Canadian-based human rights organization, we are ready to
participate in any action that will make the Sudan government comply
with international human rights laws.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation & dissemination of this video.
