CCP Spies Dressed as Falun Gong Practitioners Spread Lies in Flushing
New York is an experimental site for the CCP's global campaign
The Epoch Times
Jun. 3, 2008

CCP spies disguised themselves as Falun Gong practitioners to spread false rumors against Falun Gong during a rally in support of more than 37 million people who have publicly withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, in Flushing, New York City on May 31.

Wearing Falun Gong yellow T-shirts, and claiming to "clarify the truth" to local Chinese on Flushing streets, they told people at the site of the rally that, "the Sichuan earthquake is retribution to Chinese people," and "Chinese people died in the earthquake because of karma." These individuals attempted to breed hatred among Chinese people who do not know the truth.

These impostors acting as Falun Gong practitioners have been doing so for the past two weeks. They even held banners declaring, "Heaven will destroy China" to incite hatred among Chinese people. As soon as real Falun Gong practitioners identified them, they immediately ran away.

Under the Direction of Zhou Yongkang

Zhou Yongkang, secretary of the Central Political and Legislative Committee of the CCP uses a network of spies, both in mainland China and overseas, employing groups such as the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars, and other overseas Chinese associations to extensively spread fabricated rumors among overseas Chinese students through e-mail and CCP controlled media.

These CCP spies claim to be students, overseas Chinese immigrants, so-called Falun Gong sympathizers, as well as "Falun Gong practitioners." Their mission is to spread propaganda to tarnish the image of Falun Gong, such as claiming that the organization doesn't donate to earthquake relief and stating that the recent earthquake was caused by karma.

Moreover, CCP spies also send messages under Falun Gong practitioners' names on the Internet, or imitate Falun Gong sympathizers to spread rumors among the Chinese community. "(We) sympathised with Falun Gong in the past, but due to their recent behaviour we no longer support them," these spies say in unison. The internal spy training conducted by the CCP has said that this tactic is most effective. They claim it will divert the attention of Falun Gong practitioners, while easily confusing everyday people.

Some spies claiming to be Falun Gong practitioners send e-mails to spread false statements made by The Epoch Times newspaper. They play on the patriotism of the Chinese to spread rumors about the Olympics, the recent earthquake and Tibetan issues. This vast campaign of disinformation has served to ignite hatred among mainland Chinese and oversea Chinese against Falun Gong and The Epoch Times.

Pretending to be Sympathizers

An individual from Shanghai who attended training sessions set up by the Chinese communist spy system disclosed the methods he learned to defame Falun Gong practitioners. "Pretending to be a sympathizer is very effective, so high level leaders request that we all use this method to spread rumors about Falun Gong among Chinese student associations, online chat rooms, various overseas Chinese associations, and in mainland Chinese society," he said. "Actually it's very easy to identify these impostors, because this group of people don't understand Falun Gong at all. They all speak according to the spy training they received, so the words they use are basically the same."

This spy movement organized by Zhou Yongkang uses nearly identical methods both inside and outside of China. These spies almost use the same words and cite similar topics. They say that "Falun Gong will bring death to China and are not patriotic." Most of these CCP trained individuals claim that they were once very sympathetic to Falun Gong practitioners, but because The Epoch Times reports about the upcoming Olympics and Tibetan issues hurt the feelings of Chinese people, they no longer support Falun Gong."

Spreading the Method Overseas

This movement to defame Falun Gong using fabricated stories was focused in New York, yet arrangements to further this campaign of deception have quickly moved to other states. In fact, in regions and cities around the world that have Chinese consulates or embassies—Japan, France, the U.K. and Canada—similar arrangements are now underway. Even in China, CCP spies have extensively spread rumors to defame Falun Gong among all levels of Chinese society, including internet chat rooms, blogs, as well as public and private gatherings. Since the majority of these people all pretend to be Falun Gong practitioners, or former Falun Gong sympathizers, their words can easily confuse people.

According to officials within the Chinese communist regime, the movement in New York City is merely a test site for a global campaign. If this trial proves successful, it will immediately spread the tactic to all the cities and countries where Chinese people live, following the same method currently being used in New York.

Several countries are paying close attention to how the U.S. government handles the Flushing incident, and how the campaign of deception develops at this New York experimental site.

In the last two weeks, the CCP organized mobs of people to shout insults, besiege, and even physically attack Falun Gong practitioners who work for the service center for quitting the CCP. Peng Keyu, the Chinese consular general in NYC admitted in a phone call that he orchestrated this vicious incident to incite hatred among Chinese people—an incident that has been still not resolved.
